| Subscriptions and new members | It's that time of year again when you're all supposed to have renewed your subs and we're welcoming new members into the Club. As you can see, the board in the foyer is jam packed with those little square tickets! Those of you who have let your membership lapse and are still using the club really ought to see about rejoining. Following the new refurb we will be adopting a stricter regime on the entry policy and you will need to be signed in AND pay a £1 visitors fee every time! Remember, membership is only £6.00 a year and you really do reap the benefits. | |
| Club Website | We've been on line now for a couple of years, and the website has come on in leaps and bounds, now averaging 120 individual visits every day!!! It really is the place to find out what's going on in by far the best club in Coventry. It's undergone some major changes including the great new menu bar, faster loading pages and some sponsored ads.

| On Line payment facilities | You can now pay for tickets to our regular concerts using Paypal and major credit cards! Make sure you don't miss Ultimate Madness on Friday 4th July Many people travel great distances to see some of the acts we put on. This will be really convenient for folks like them, but this facility will also mean that members can now pay for their Christmas & New Years Eve tickets, and even pay their yearly subscription on line and spread the cost! If you give us your email address we can even send you a reminder! At last, an end to those queues in the foyer on Friday nights and Sunday lunchtimes... | |
| Improvements to the Club | This years round of refurbs have now almost been finalised. Starting on the 30th June will be the new front patio and repair of the steps to the garden. The Family lounge which is being completely refurbished over 6 weeks or so will commence on 14th July. All usual lounge activities will be transferred to the function room upstairs where it's available. A plan of the new lounge and the new patio area is now displayed in the foyer for everyone to see. Nice to see we're at last getting shut of the dinosaur and pain in the backside that is the children's room, and that eventually, common sense DOES prevail. Tenders will be invited for various sub-contract works in due course. We are also looking for manual labourers to assist in the gutting of the lounge and foyer and moving materials and the like. Payments will be made weekly and on reasonable day rates. See Mick Goodreid or Danny Moynihan if you're interested for further details. | |
| Members Evening | Another great night, and thouroughly worthwhile, although I must admit I never got to see the show. Some people have expressed disappointment about the talking dummies (and the puppets as well) so we'll be booking the act for next year as soon as, rather than waitng until next year. If you've seen a great act/turn recently, get on to Marie or Anthony and we'll see what we can do. A big sorry to those of you who were refused entry 'cos you didn't have both your members blue card and grey fob, but you were warned, and we just couldn't make exceptions! Perhaps you'll be better prepared next time! If anyone would like to write a review of the Members Night Experience, I'll pick the best of them and publish them on this very page and on our excellent forum! | |
| Club Sports and Games | Our forays into club and pub games proved very successful last season. Both our Snooker and our Pool teams have done very well once again. The Club's new football team reached the semi-finals of their league. Check out the new sports and games pages which have just been completely refreshed ready for the start of the new season. Remember, we're still looking for a darts team to represent the club, and teams of all kinds to represent the club at CIU Games Leagues. Our facilities are first class and we'd welcome brand new teams or existing teams looking to relocate. Mens, Womens and/or mixed teams would be most welcome. | |

| Real Ale | After literally years of opposition, argument and difficulties in one form or another the Club now sell REAL ALE. Green King's "Abbot" ale is now on sale at a very reasonable £2.20 a pint. The guest ale will be changed regularly - well they do say that variety is the spice of life! Real Ale is now the official tipple of yours truly when I'm in the club and you really should buy me a pint if I'm awake next time you see me! Oh, and by the way, has anyone noticed over at the Arms the barstaff no longer say "enjoy your drink" when serving you but rather "drink responsibly?" If we all drank responsibly Tim Martin would be out of bloody business tomorrow.......
