SUMMARY:Blues Extra
DESCRIPTION:Mariana – Vocals\nLouis Ballestrini – Guitar. Vocals\nTony Freeman – Harmonica\, Guitar\, Keyboards. Vocals\nTony Ashpool – Drums\n\nTerry Villars – Bass\n\n\nBlues Extra was formed in 2011 by Terry Villars (bass) following the demise of his previous band.\n \nTerry got together with Paul Englefield and they soon recruited Louis Balestrini (lead guitar) and Tony Ashpool (drums). They started playing open mic nights which led to gigs in pubs and soon began to get asked back for paid gigs! \n \nDrawing on their own musical hinterlands they soon expanded the repertoire into rock from the likes of Clapton\, Hendrix\, Led Zeppelin\, Bowie\, the Stones and this repertoire continues to expand with some 60 songs currently on the setlist. Initially the band had a saxophone in the line up but this didn’t last and Tony Freeman then joined the band. Tony brought keyboards\, rhythm guitar and some superb harmonica playing\, and the bands sound is now rich and complex.\n \nTerry first picked up the bass guitar at 18 and started jamming with local lads in Jersey where he lived – he was invited to join a new band by a local guitarist and a hard rocking three piece\, Dogwatch\, was born! Dogwatch played heavy rock/blues in the style of Hendrix and wrote most of their own music\, resulting in EMI showing interest\, a studio recording\, a photo shoot in London and supporting Slade for two nights! A great experience! Unfortunately Dogwatch disbanded as EMI wanted a new singer and one of the members didn’t want to leave the Island so Terry moved to London\, played with a few bands until ‘life’ took over and music was put to one side. Fast forward quite a few years and the urge to play returned and a new bass guitar was purchased\, and a new band was formed with a friend– Rockpool – playing covers of classic light rock. Rockpool played several gigs before breaking up in 2011. \n \nTony Freeman started out in brass bands up North while at school\, (it were grim) and picked up guitar when at college in Middlesbrough. Some gigs followed while at Newcastle University\, but then a long period of “working” meant music was put to one side. Taking up guitar again\, then harmonica\, then bass\, then keyboard\, has kept him occupied. (he owns a banjo\, and has been seen looking longingly at sets of bagpipes\, but his family have threatened legal action if he takes up either). He was in a number of blues bands in London in the 90s\, some big bands in the 2000s\, and even now occasionally ventures into the world of jazz.\n \nAfter 3 very successful years our singer Hel has moved on to a new life by the sea in Eastbourne – while we’re sad to see her go we are also excited about the new chapter opening with our new singer Mariana!\n \nMariana\, who originates from Bulgaria is a very experienced singer with experience singing on cruise ships\, a Dio tribute band\, various places in Greece and was a semi finalist in the Eurovision heats for Bulgaria – so she brings a huge amount of experience!\n\nThe band have been going from strength to strength building a solid local fan base with regular gigs in Rugby\, Coventry\, Kenilworth and Warwick. Some fans come regularly from further afield\, Banbury\, London and even New Zealand just to hear them play!\n \nRecent successes include headlining the Hook Norton Beer festival.

SUMMARY:Tony Gold as Tom Jones
DESCRIPTION:Tony Gold As Tom Jones\nJust indulge us for a few moments. Close your eyes\, sit back and relax. Now imagine it’s way back in 1975. The house lights go down\, the intro music rolls and for the next hour you could without the slightest effort completely believe you’re in the company of legendary entertainer\, Sir Tom Jones.\nThis is Tony Gold\, one of the East Midlands’s leading tribute acts. Despite being born in Nottinghamshire rather than the coal-mining heart of Wales\, Tony has an uncanny talent with a distinctive vocal range and powerful stage presence which faithfully replicates the heyday of one of the UK’s most famous musical sons.\nWith a wide repertoire of Sir Tom’s hits\, including the entire range of classics such as; “It’s Not Unusual”\, “Kiss”\, “Delilah” and “Sexbomb”\, Tony consistently delivers the goods and never fails to satisfy the fans.

SUMMARY:Devoted to Rock
DESCRIPTION:Devoted To Rock was formed in March 2009\, with the intention of creating a great rock covers band. The nucleus of the band had been involved in cover bands before and had a desire to play great rock songs from the 70’s/80’s  right up to modern classics. The formula was to be simple\, play great songs that everyone knows\, that you can sing along to\, tap your foot to. Not tracks that make you finish your drink and move to a quieter venue. They were hoping their brand of music would go down well enough for them to enjoy a steady stream of dates. They were wrong. Since their first gig in April 2009 and with every other show they’ve played\, the performances have been so well received\, that the demand for the band has reached such a level\,  they can no longer play all the gigs they’re offered. In a short space of time they have became one of the busiest\, one of the most in demand\, and probably the best rock covers band playing the Midlands today. If you want to have a great night out and see a great show with one of the best bands on the circuit today\, then you have to catch Devoted To Rock\, the next time they’re playing at the Albany.

SUMMARY:Party Popperz
DESCRIPTION:Originally formed as The Grimleys in 2002\, this 5-piece band went on to perform in front of audiences the length and breadth of the UK in all of the major holiday camps and hotel chains. Following the departure of one of the band members in 2008\, it was felt that a change of name was also required\, and The Party Popperz were born. \nThe Party Popperz‘s show is based on the high colour\, high impact sounds of the ’70s\, ’80s and ’90s from artists as diverse as David Bowie\, Queen\, Madness\, Sweet\, Prince\, Showaddywaddy and all the way through to Tom Jones and The Bee Gees. Each artist impersonated is performed in fully authentic costume by the brilliant and charismatic Chris Fielding. Chris’s highlights include appearing on “Stars In Their Eyes” as Gary Numan as well as appearing on the final PULP video single Bad Cover Version. \nThe band are seasoned musicians\, having served their apprenticeships alongside the likes of Barclay James Harvest\, Wizzard\, Screaming Lord Sutch and Billy J Kramer. There are no backing tracks of any kind\, and the aim of the band is to keep the dance floor buzzing throughout the evening.
