Albany Club Quiz
The new Albany Club quiz, which occurs on the first Wednesday of each month, will be up next at 8pm on Wednesday 3rd June 2026. Entry is £1.00 per person. Teams of 1, 2, 3 up to a maximum of 4. If you are more than 4 you can split into 2 teams (e.g. a team of 3 and another of 2) and still sit together. Drinks vouchers to be won. The format is five rounds of twelve questions themed on topics related to the previous month, e.g April quiz will include an Irish round and a Welsh round. All subjects are covered from the arts and geography to music and sport. The quiz is delivered by club member Lynn Gillespie who has past experience of running successful quizzes. Lynn was responsible for compiling the clubs most successful charity quiz for Pass The Smile for Ben a few years ago. Come along and test your knowledge.
This Thursday, Cov Loves to Boogie is back to its regular slot. Join Bridget and the Boogie boys and girls for some eclectic music for mind, body and soul. Join us from 6:00pm until 10:30pm.
Live Music on Friday, sees the club welcome a new act, Under The Covers. A UK based, well established, live Rock n Roll band providing high quality entertainment as they roll through classic songs written by some of the greatest artists of all-time: U2, The Kinks, Queen, CCR, The Beatles, Chuck Berry, Elvis, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Thin Lizzy, Rolling Stones, The Jam, The Who, The Police, Oasis, Foos, Stereophonics, Blur, Killers, Kings of Leon + 80s classics and much more, this Friday, 22nd May.
On Saturday, we welcome back favourites, Motown Motion. This excellent Soul tribute band from Birmingham comprises Annabel and Yola on lead vocals, Rob on vocals, bass and keys and Pete on guitar. With each show designed to give each vocalist equal time in the spotlight, they perform duets like IT TAKES TWO and AIN’T NO MOUNTAIN. Motown Motion’s energy and style guarantees a filled dance floor from start to finish, this Saturday, 23rd May…………….
………….ably assisted by DJ Shanksy on the decks, as usual, ’til late.
As always, entry is free to club members for live entertainment and the best of sport on TV, £3 for guests.
Sunday Night Fever returns on Sunday at 6:30pm until 10:30pm for some great dancing and groovin’. Everyone is welcome, free entry. Sorry. No Event, this Sunday, 24th May.
For those lucky enough to have secured tickets don’t forget you have a treat on Sunday evening when FNBC will be playing the Concert Room, ahead of Bank Holiday Monday.
Next Friday, we’re welcoming back Rezistance. A powerful four piece, playing MTV/Radio friendly rock songs from bands including Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Journey, Whitesnake, The Cult, Poison, Queen, Van Halen, Thunder, Thin Lizzy, UFO, Billy Idol, Motley Crue and many more, Friday 29th May.
Saturday, next week, sees Six Foot Drop returning. Formed in early 2021 bringing together four, experienced, like-minded musicians with the simple idea to be the very best they could be and play live as much as possible, selecting covers from classic to modern rock, ballads to floor fillers! All Guaranteed to fill the dance floor, Saturday 30th May.

For existing members wishing to renew, this can be done in a number of ways…..
The Secretary’s office is manned Monday to Thursday from 8:00am until 4:00pm every week. Access to the Secretary is only possible during club opening hours.
These days will be for all membership enquiries, lost cards and entry fob activations. Room hire queries and urgent matters will be dealt with by the Secretary when she is in. You may also leave membership applications, documents, letters etc in the post box which is in the foyer by the office door. Thanks for your co-operation. If in doubt, phone before travelling any distance.
