Latest News

Wednesday night will see the closing of the club until at least the first week in December. In the meantime, the rules for Tier 2 will still apply. We'd like to thank you all for your continued custom and support and hope to see you all again when our doors re-open. Stay safe and look after each other.

Track and Trace

  • Members must fob into the club individually. Every member is encouraged to download the NHS Covid app onto their phone and scan the QR codes displayed around the club, every time they enter the club. This will automatically register their presence and they will not need to sign in. (Please note that the app can not be downloaded on all mobile phones) Members and guest without the app on their phone, or with no phone included must sign in at the bar using your real name.

  • Please observe the notices in the club, and follow club rules;

  • Hand sanitisers are already fitted in key locations throughout the club - please use them sensibly at every opportunity.
  • Face masks must be worn when entering the club and everywhere whilst in the club - visiting the WC, playing pool and snooker, playing the gaming machines. Masks need not be worn while sitting at your table and this is the only exception.
  • Wearing your mask, go to the ordering point and pay for your order. Drinks will now be brought to your table by a member of staff.
  • Our card payment machines are available in all rooms, we still accept cash but we are encouraging the use of card payments wherever possible. The minimum spend rule is relaxed for the time being.

Our opening hours are;
  • Monday to Friday 2:00pm to 10:00pm
  • Saturday and Sunday 12:00pm to 10:00pm
  • Last orders for drinks at 9:20pm
  • The Club will CLOSE its doors at 10:00pm

New membership applications are now closed until February 2021. Anyone who has recently submitted an application has until the end of November 2020 to collect their documents. Contact the Secretary if this includes YOU.

Members are allowed to bring ONE guest into the club and are required to give their guests' contact details at reception or the bar upon entering the club as part of our 'track and trace' system.

  • We have had no major incidents to speak of and business is steady. The Management Committee meet every week to assess the progress of trade and the safety of our members and staff. It is worth noting that the club has received several comments of praise for the way it has handled the crisis, and how members feel that they are in a safe and comfortable environment within the club.
  • We now have a fob entry system into the car park side gate. Access for members with car park authorisation is now from 10:45 until 09:00 the following day. If you leave your car/van overnight then it must be removed before 9:00 or after 10:45 the following day.
  • You need both your CARD AND FOB to gain entry, as we will not buzz people in or serve anyone without their up to date membership card. The primary reason for this is so that we can ascertain WHO is in the club at any given time in accordance with government requirements. If you have lost your fob and/or card or don't have them available you will need to get new ones in order to use the club. There will be no exceptions. Contact the Secretary to make an appointment if necessary.
  • Numbers are strictly limited and managed due to social distancing requirements. The protection and safeguarding of our staff is also paramount.
  • The smoking area at the front of the club may now be used by up to 4 people at once.
  • CIU Affiliates are allowed in the club, but will need to show both Membership of the CIU and a current year card.
  • Our pool table which normally resides in the bar is now in the Lounge, and is now available to play every day. The Club will be monitoring this to ensure that social distancing is maintained and that the colourful language normally tolerated in the bar is kept to a bare minimum.
  • Sunday Dinners are now unfortunately cancelled until further notice. Sammy and her team can't wait to get going again but sadly the numbers just don't add up in the current climate.
  • Sadly, our live entertainment schedule is cancelled for the time being. We'll get it back just as soon as we can.
  • Our yearly visit to the Pantomime has also been cancelled until next year. We will be in touch with all those who had reserved bookings.

Expect more news here, on Facebook and watch out for our member's newsletter.

  • Monday to Friday 2:00pm to 10:00pm
  • Saturday and Sunday 12:00pm to 10:00pm

Bank Holidays and Christmas Subject to Change. Please check before travelling any distance, or ring ahead.

New Membership applications are now closed until February next year. You can download an application form here, or obtain a paper copy from the Secretary and from the barstaff.

We are hoping to have subscriptions payable by  debit and credit card payments for next year’s renewals.

Existing members must renew their membership every year in order to receive club benefits like discounted drinks and free entry to the club for sport on TV and live music shows.

The Secretary has to put aside hours when he will not be interrupted.. Members are asked to only knock on his door during the following time periods;

  • Tuesday 12:00pm – 19:00pm
